Lojer, the largest manufacturer of hospital and healthcare furniture in the Nordics, wanted to revolutionize their business management through data. They envisioned a unified analytics solution. Their old ERP system limited the use of data analytics and did not retain historical information; moreover, the company’s data architecture needed modernization.

Lojer is building a data platform where information is readily available with minimal effort. The platform provides a comprehensive environment where data pipelines and other data-related processes can operate. Data pipelines are an essential part of the data platform, necessary for efficient data utilization and analysis on the platform.

Solution

Monad took on the challenge and began collaborating with Lojer. Our goal was to build a scalable data pipeline that allows data to be transferred and processed automatically through multiple stages. The purpose of the data pipeline is to transform data into a usable form for analysis, reporting, or other business purposes.

The project began with the design and implementation of a sample data pipeline in Microsoft Fabric, which processes raw data into Delta Lake tables. Fabric orchestrates the running of data pipelines, utilizing Apache Spark for more complex logic. Additionally, Fabric’s new features allow for improved reporting.

Our solution provides Lojer with a foundation upon which they can add new data sources. It also enables the use of Power BI for analytics, allowing Lojer to develop reporting for different business areas.
