Traditional crafts often bear the unique handprint of their creators. The field of software development is often referred to as the craftsmanship of the modern era. Digital solutions are born from an idea and gradually take shape, line by line. This also inspires Karl, who joined us as a software designer this fall.

“It’s wonderful to see a part of the software functioning that I have created myself. It could be something that initially seemed challenging, but eventually, the problem was solved, and a functional part of the software emerged. It ignites passion in this profession,” describes Karl Jurvanen.

Karl joined Monad in late 2022. He has worked with software security and cloud technologies at a startup in Tampere. He continues to develop cloud solutions at Monad, along with backend development.

At Monad, Karl works with AWS cloud platform and Kubernetes, among others. He is particularly interested in software automation, cloud resources, and not only AWS but also other cloud platforms.

Karl studied mechanical engineering at the former Tampere University of Technology but switched to information and communication technology at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. His interest in programming sparked during his studies at Tampere University of Technology, which inspired him to pursue studies in the field. He graduated as an engineer in 2021.

During his free time, Karl can be found wall climbing among other activities. He discovered this sport a year ago and is excited that there are other climbing enthusiasts at Monad. In addition to climbing, he is also interested in video and board games. Among his recent favorites, he mentioned Elden Ring and Factorio.
